At Vanguard HI, we believe every child deserves a fair shot at play, joy, and adventure. Based in Mākaha, Hawaii, our mission is to alleviate the emotional and social isolation of pediatric patients by providing accessible gaming opportunities directly within medical facilities.

Who We Are

Hospital stays can be incredibly isolating for young heroes. Vanguard HI was founded to transform that isolation into community connection through the immersive magic of video games. We are a dedicated 501(c)(3) pediatric gaming charity focused on empowering children by casting them as the leaders of their own stories.

What We Do

We bridge the gap between isolation and community through several core initiatives:

• Equipping the Wards: We coordinate the logistics to supply children’s hospitals with customized, state-of-the-art gaming hardware, accessible controllers, and mobile entertainment carts.

• Cooperative Adventures: We organize engaging video game tournaments, tabletop campaigns, and interactive, community-driven multiplayer sessions.

• Mentorship Programs: Our Big Brother/Big Sister style gaming program pairs pediatric patients with supportive mentors so no child has to play a multiplayer game alone.
